The Control Shift Series
Control shift is a keyboard command to change the keyboard layout, therefore changing the way you write the story.
The true crime space is a hugely popular one, giving offenders notoriety, while the victims often are presented as a side note. Recent years, for some true crime broadcasters, a slight shift in the lens has emerged, giving voice, names, and respect to victims of crime – This series joins that movement. Shifting the control of the narrative.
Crafting miniature models of one scene from a true crime story, the cubes use that scene as a springboard to the stories of each victim. Placing them within their families and lives.
The scenes are interactive. Some points you can see, others are hunt and click. The symbols throughout the scene pop out with a story to tell. The whole scene will have a story to tell. Some of the symbols to do with the scene will have no pop out, they are easter eggs if you know the story well enough – let me know when you find them.
There are two parts
Victim Voices – read the stories of the victims.
Offender Curiosities – Some added bits of interest from the research that are either curious or curiouser.
Let’s control and shift the narrative and tell the story of the people who are more than their last moments.
